The heatwave in Southern California is so real right now and it’s becoming more of a challenge for me every day to figure out what I should be wearing. The crazy part about living in Orange County is that you can experience various temperature spikes and drops only a few miles within one another. For example, I wake up with super high temperatures, head to the office which is slightly lower, and will go grab coffee and shoot photos after work towards the beach and end up getting chilly. Not to mention, I’m like everyone else in the world who has to dress for 2 temperatures, one for my office and one for going outside. Unfortunately our office has been experiencing some problems with our air conditioner so it’s not THAT cold. We actually had to move from upstairs to downstairs at one point when the air just decided to stop (not fun).
Styling linen trousers for summer is an extreme necessity. I know I always talk about the ability to transition outfits from work to play (let me know if that is still something you guys like to hear) but when it’s summer it’s probably the hardest time to shop and dress for an office. While yes, you are in an office all day, I’m sure most people jump out at some point of the day to grab lunch, go for a walk or even just grabbing happy hour after work. It’s nice to be able to wear something comfortably all day long. I chose this look specifically from River Island because it reminded me of a beach vacation to be honest haha. I definitely am in need of one. The trousers are one of my favorites because they actually sit really high on the waist and create a flattering silhouette. I will say that I picked out the Petite style so that I would be happy with the length but it might be a little too short for this particular style (I’m 5’6″ by the way). I also fell in love with this simple tank top that has a split neckline that can be perfectly tucked into the pants. I’m super excited to be traveling to San Diego this week for Comic Con! It’s not only a really great time being able to spend a few days in San Diego but it’s also amazing to experience all of the pop-culture and comic oriented events. It’s definitely changed through the years and has become somewhat of an insane spectacle but it’s almost a tradition to go so I can’t seem to stay away. This year I won’t be dressing up but I’m still excited to be immersed in it all!
