Things I’m Into Right Now

July 7, 2020

Kitchen

There are a lot of great items I’m loving in the kitchen right now that I felt the need to share. From kitchen utensils to food to other random products these are definitely items I’ve been reaching for in these quarantine months.

Golde Pure Matcha

I have been a fan of Matcha for the past 4 years or so but never felt comfortable enough or confident enough to actually make it at home. I had this Matcha sitting in my cabinet for a few months and finally went forward with trying it. I make one mean Matcha latte now. Not only that. Golde focuses on products that look good, taste good and make you feel better. Golde is also founded and ran by an incredible Black Woman named Trinity.

Our Place Always Pan

I had seen a few friends with this particular pan and I have to say I am SO glad I was able to receive one. They are absolutely worth it and honestly before they reached out I was going to buy one anyways. This non-stick pan replaces a traditional 16 piece set. It also works on all stove tops which was exactly my concern since I have an induction stove top. So happy with this and use it almost everyday!

Public Goods Bamboo Straws

If you haven’t shopped Public Goods I HIGHLY recommend it. They have tons of basic goods products from grocery items to household items everything is focused on leaving less of an impact on the environment. These bamboo straws have become a favorite of mine. While I also have a pair of metal straws these are perfect for throwing in your bag and I always use them when drinking cold drinks at home. Also I’ve actually ran these in the dishwasher multiple times and they come out perfectly fine!

Hefty Tote Bags

I’ve been leaning more towards tote bags instead of handbags lately and I felt the need to share a few favorites. I know there are a ton of options when it comes to totes but these few are ones that I know will actually last a long time and they can fit a whole lot of life into them.

Orseund Iris Canvas Circle Tote

I picked up this bag from Orseund Iris on Juneteenth. For every bag purchased they donated 100% of proceeds to ACLU. I had seen this bag before and was eyeing it previously but this made the purchase that much easier. The design is really unique for a tote with it being circular and it is perfect as a handbag quite honestly. It fits my reusable water bottle perfectly so there’s always a special place in my heart for bags like that.

Rothys Reversible Tote

Rothys is a great brand that transforms eco-friendly materials into shoes, handbags and other accessories. I love their focus on sustainability but also this reversible tote bag they sent over was actually incredible. It’s huge and thick so it makes the perfect beach bag, grocery bag or just about anything else bag.

Junes Everyday Tote

This is one tote bag that is more underused than I’d like but I absolutely love the versatility of it. It’s not only perfect as a “catch all” bag for water bottles, notebooks, or extra sweaters or shoes but also for grocery shopping. Junes focuses on sustainability and ensures that this will be your unbreakable bag.

Skincare Essentials

It’s been a minute since I’ve talked about skincare and what I’ve really been loving lately. I have a mix of masks, cleansers and even face oil (which is shocking for me).

Malin + Goetz Detox Face Mask

This is my absolute favorite mask for a few reasons. 1. It’s the perfect quick mask to end the evening (leave it on for 5-10 min max). 2. It leaves my face cleansed and hydrated. 3. It foams up and feels really nice on your face! The bottle has a ton of uses as well and I use it about 1-3 times a week!

Crabtree & Evelyn Revitalise Polish Pulp Mask

I was recently introduced to Crabtree & Evelyn products. I had seen them before but their new branding and focus on exploration, connection and authenticity had me intrigued. This mask is the perfect mask to utilize twice or so a week. It leaves my skin feeling soft, polished and it smells SO GOOD.

Prima Night Magic

I was incredibly against oils basically up until I received this CBD based oil by Prima. I met the owners of the brand at an event and fell in love with the company ideologies and how passionate they are about CBD. Seeing as this was a hero product I decided to try it out. I have to say this oil is something that makes my skin feel entirely NEW when I use it. Not to mention it does wonders for me when I have some subtle breakouts. Oils used to scare me so much since I have combination/oily skin. The thought of adding more oil to my skin was terrifying. But I have to say this has regulated my skin so much it’ has become a must have for myself and I recommend it to everyone.

OSEA Ocean Cleanser

I have only been using this cleanser for about a week now but I am SO impressed with it. This is the perfect morning cleanser that leaves my face feeling so refreshed. It’s the perfect cleanser to start the day, it helps with blemishes, exfoliates and balances the skin. Safe, non-toxic and focused on sustainability I absolutely love this brand. Another high point of the brand is the price range. I tend to notice that “clean” or “non-toxic” claiming products tend to push a higher price tag. This cleanser is in a large bottle and only $48, plus it comes in a glass bottle which I have been trying my best to purchase products that can be recycled easier.
