Yellow Tone Outfits

March 16, 2020

Things have been a little bit crazy as I’m sure everyone is aware of. I utilize my blog as a diary of sorts so just wanted to pop on here and share a few feelings as well as document kind of whats going on. Right now we are amid the COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the Corona Virus. Personally I’ve been back and forth with being overwhelmed, confused, guilty and uncertain. I had a trip to Belize planned as well as 2 bachelorette trips, one closer to home and one in Cabo. It’s pretty crazy how things turn out, I’m not usually a traveler so the chances that this happened during the one month where I had so many things planned is pretty insane.

Well aside from all of that I’ve been laying low, have gone out to shoot some photos and grab a coffee but with things escalating I have no intentions of heading out anytime soon. Aside from getting household chores done like laundry and cleaning I have also been cooking more and trying to be organized. But all that being said the one thing that I noticed happened in the past few days is that I’ve been leaning towards yellow tone pieces. Now I received these pieces a few days ago and selected them weeks ago but it’s crazy that with things escalating like this I happened to put together 2 outfits I think that bring a bit of sunshine into a somewhat eerie time we are in. For myself, Instagram has been a bit of a downer and honestly writing on my blog has brought me the most joy. I just think that personally I love being able to share and view fashion as an outlet, a getaway, an escape that makes me so happy. I’m also sure I’m not the only one so with that I wanted to share these two yellow tone outfits that just made me really happy.

Yellow Faux Leather Karma Shorts – Steele | Vegan Leather Oversized Blazer – Steele | Lorenza Super Crop Tee – Steele | The 2814 Bag in Moo – Margi Gaba |

I received these yellow faux leather shorts from Steele, a great brand I’ve been wearing a lot of pieces from lately. Actually the shorts, jacket and crop top are all by Steele. All pieces were gifted as I just really connected with the brand. The pieces are sexy yet functional and I have worn the pieces I’ve selected MULTIPLE times so I knew when selecting them that they would become my staples. Since the weather was kind of blah this week I paired the outfit with some black semi sheer tights and some knee high boots. I also wanted a little pop aside from the shorts so grabbed my cute cow print bag to top off the look.

Yellow Zip Up Leather Blazer – Singulier Vintage | Acne Studios Embossed Crop Top – Acne Studios | Criss Cross Front Denim – Agolde | Cosmo 2.0 Lugg Sole Chelsea Boot – Vagabond Shoemakers | The 2814 Bag in Moo – Margi Gaba |

For this particular look I actually picked up this cute leather zip up blazer jacket from one of my favorite online vintage shops Singulier that a friend of mine owns and operates! I saw it on her site which I frequent often and realized I had to have it. It’s actually by Ann Taylor (who I also work with now so that’s amazing) and it’s the perfect statement jacket I’ve been looking for. Being in So Cal I am lucky to only really need lightweight jackets most of the year and seeing that most of mine were just regular blazers and a few black leather jackets I wanted something different. It was extremely easy to pair and I threw on this look to grab coffee with my friend Vincent who was obsessed with the look and insisted I shoot it (even though I hadn’t really planned to). I gotta say I’m glad I listened to him haha. I threw on my Acne Studios boxy t-shirt with my favorite Agolde criss cross upsized jeans that have a more loose 90s fit as well as my favorite Vagabond shoemakers lug sole boots.

With that I hope these looks can bring a little brightness to such a weird time. I’m actually taking this time to be more creative with putting together looks since everything has slowed down. While I’m very lucky to be in a situation like this (as many have said) it’s definitely a time to try and find something to occupy our minds with. Sitting, waiting, wishing or stressing isn’t going to make anything happen faster so at this point it’s all about how to value and spend your time in my eyes. for me I’ll be trying to piece together looks and see how I can shoot content in my house more creatively. Until next post !
