Current Trends I’m Loving

February 24, 2019

There are so many trends happening right now and I’m pretty much living for them all. Now while I can’t really talk about every single one I want to highlight a few that I’m absolutely all for. I’ll go into a little more detail below about each trend I’m loving but as a synopsis here are the current trends I’m loving: Printed long sleeve tops, shorts suit combos, and pants tucked into mid calf boots.

Printed Long Sleeve Tops

We’ve seen it first from designers like Proenza Schouler, Acne, and Celine and it’s now making it’s way into a full blown trend. I’m a huge fan of fitted long sleeve printed tops. It’s not often you can find a really cool printed shirt that can be matched with so many things. I think more-so having the cut fitted and usually either a mock or turtleneck makes this style stand out. They initially don’t seem like they are super wearable but having a print allows you to mix and match different colors and by pairing it with differing bottoms and coats you can create cool layers and an overall look that stands out. I also love how they can be dressed up or down because of the fitted element.

Shorts Suit Combo

Shorts suit sets are my new favorite trend for Spring. I have one set I got from Zara that’s actually a shorts / vest set. Either way, having bermuda shorts in rotation is what I’m allll about. While this look might not tickle everyones fancy there are so many cool ways to incorporate this into your wardrobe. Wearing them as separates is always an option, I’d recommend wearing an off shoulder fitted top with the shorts (to give some femininity and balance, or pair the entire set with a bandeau top showing off some skin. There’s just something really chic about pairing something so masculine/oversized and adding feminine elements like a strappy heeled sandal or fitted top underneath.

Pants Tucked into Mid Calf Boots

I think this is a trend a lot of people can give a shot without much fear. Lately I’ve been seeing more trousers and baggier denim paired with mid calf or knee high boots tucked in. Again, this is a chic way to add something different to your outfit. What I especially love is pairing a cool pair of boots with a super casual outfit like jeans and a crew neck. You don’t always have to create an entire look that’s dressy or stand out but just add a few small elements to create a really chic look. Think airport style but with heels. I’m excited to see how I can explore this trend even more by experimenting with different textured boots and trousers.
