San Diego North Park Favorite Spots

January 7, 2019

I recently took my third trip down to San Diego’s North Park region and I had yet another amazing time. Now I haven’t spent an insane amount of time in that area since I usually stay more towards downtown during Comic Con but I am so in love with this area! They have the cutest little shops, bars and restaurants that I’m finding myself frequenting it a lot more. Some of the areas I share might not be exactly in North Park but I’ve compiled a list of my favorite spots around the area and within North Park San Diego. Be sure to stop by on your next visit! Here we go:

San Diego Museum of Art

Now this might seem obvious but I was really surprised by this quaint little art museum. It’s perfect for stopping by for a long day of adventuring since the space isn’t too large you can quickly see all the museum has to offer and be on your way to your next activity. It’s also located in Balboa Park which is not only gorgeous but features a ton of other activities and a few other museums to check out.

Holy Matcha

The “holy” grail of North Park, Holy Matcha is an adorable matcha shop that features a multitude of matcha drinks, snacks, and merchandise. A ton of the drinks are focused on health conscious mixes that include herbs and supplements. Not to mention the interior is GORGEOUS and super instagramable.

Sycamore Den

This bar was a happy surprise to end a really long day of adventuring on one of my trips. We were waiting out traffic and decided to stop in for a cocktail. The interior was really eclectic and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable in helping us make some fun and different drink selections. We also had a pup with us and they were more than welcome inside and outside the bar.

Kindred

I was introduced to this place by my sister actually and was SO excited to give it a try. While the place mainly functions as a bar we stopped in for brunch before leaving Comic Con and had some amazing vegan breakfast items (yes the place is also vegan!). We also left some money in the mouth of their really cool sculpture that’s in the back with all proceeds going to a wolf sanctuary!

Pigment

Ok so this shop is absolutely adorable. Pigment has the perfect curation of items from plants, to home goods, to jewelry, and even kids/baby pieces! I love coming in here and grabbing a few little items, last time was a macrame wall hanging and this time was some random gifts for my friends. There is something for everyone plus they have a really cute plant wall that has a photo booth on it!

Maven

Perfectly curated in every way, Maven caters to the boutique lover and features selected designers you can’t find elsewhere. From coffee, to house goods, to jewelry and staple wardrobe pieces the shop is a great one stop shop. Not to mention, it’s so beautiful on the interior you can snap a cute little photo before completing your purchase.
