The Swim Edit 2020

August 19, 2020

Summer is in full swing and I’ve basically been living in swimwear. Beach trips and hanging out in my dads pool is basically what I’ve been up to. There has been a great shift when it comes to people focusing on smaller up and coming brands and I wanted to highlight a few that I have come across that I really love. Sometimes it’s hard to find swimwear that is the perfect fit for everyone so I’m hoping this will help give some variation!

You Swim

I came across You Swim after a few friends posted their pieces online. I was thrilled when they reached out to me about collaborating. I have a beautiful blue suit from them that I’ve worn swimming and I have to say it is definitely the most comfortable suit I own. They are based in England where all the pieces are made. Their focus has been to have inflexible sizing by creating swimwear that represents women realistically. Their images of models are not retouched and sizing fits women who usually wear a size US 2 – 14. Aside from the fun colors they offer and the comfort of the suits I really felt a community when it came to looking into their page and website. It felt like a true celebration of women and our bodies. A few people I know were skeptical of the fit even though it says “one size fits all” but were pleasantly surprised by the outcome!

Sie Swim

I am extremely excited to have connected with Sie Swim this past month. The founder was born and raised in Hawaii and has lived in swimsuits basically her entire upbringing. Her dream was to create her own line and here she is today after moving back to Hawaii from the mainland. I really loved connecting with Chelsie because her initial email first and foremost asked to get to know me better. It was amazing to connect with someone who is also of Hawaiian heritage. Her suits are the epitome of laid back cheeky Hawaiian style. Aside from that, she heavily advocates for reducing the carbon footprint in the fashion industry as well as giving back to organizations she is passionate about that includes animal rescue, climate change, and mental health.

Riot Swim

I’ve been a fan of Riot Swim as far back as 2017 when I first received some of their suits. I was extremely impressed and excited to take on suits that were not only uniquely designed but honestly they were really sexy for what I was used to! I was excited to be able to have swimwear that made me feel really powerful. Recently I’ve become aware that Riot Swim is also Black owned and it makes it even more amazing to have that connection there. Their vibe is simple, sexy, minimalistic and luxe swimwear for all. I absolutely fell in love with their pieces and am so excited to be able to feature them once more.

Vitamin A

I’ve really enjoyed a multitude of pieces from Vitamin A. I had known about the brand for awhile but never had committed to a suit. They focus on producing their suits sustainably right here in California. Not to mention they have some amazing loungewear and one of my favorite linen shirts is from them! Their styles are classic in design but they’ve perfected the fit to them. It’s nice to find a swim shop that has just as beautiful beach coverup wear so you can have a complete one stop shop when you are heading to your next vacation (in 2021).
