Cool Girl Pieces, On a Budget

October 25, 2019

As I’ve mentioned in previous blog posts, I’m really into investing in higher end pieces as my closet has begun to evolve. Instead of purchasing a ton of pieces that have a shelf life of 6 months – 1 year I’m investing in high quality designer pieces that I can wear more regularly. While I am excited about the way I’m curating my closet I also know that it isn’t exactly feasible for everyone, myself included. With travel photos, outfit photos and food constantly in our faces we can’t help but feel left out and envious of the next best thing.

The concept of “cool girl” fashion from my understanding is creating an effortless sense of style. With that being said, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to have Gucci this or Prada that (although I love those things). I’ve always struggled with finding brands that encompass a modern and classic look without complete rips of runway designers. It’s important to remember however that we live in an age where there is hardly an original concept anymore. In one way or another we get influenced whether we are conscious of it or not. There’s a clear distinction between copying and being inspired but it’s near impossible to know every and all designer rips. I’ve come across some great brands and shops that create the perfect curation of modern day fashion that will stand the test of time and just felt the need to share.

I know there can be so much pressure to look a certain way and I’m extremely lucky to be able to connect with brands and be able to receive my pieces for free. I still shop however so I understand the importance of feeling your money is being invested in the right way. So many trends come and go but it’s finding what makes you feel good and knowing you can find multiple ways to wear a piece or pieces.

Structured Classics: The Frankie Shop

It’s no surprise that Frankie Shop is on my list of affordable cool girl shops. While they do have some designer pieces thrown in for a higher cost their in house pieces are extremely affordable. I have probably 5 or so pieces from the Frankie Shop and I have worn each MULTIPLE times. My favorite piece is this oversized blazer as well as a few pairs of trousers. I would highly recommend for some statement neutral pieces that can be mixed into your wardrobe seamlessly.

On Trend Accessories: Charles & Keith

I was introduced to Charles & Keith some years ago and was blown away by their really cool boots and handbags. I had always been searching for something more unique when it came to my accessories but was always disappointed by what was on the market. Charles & Keith really combines a fresh take on seasonal styles in a classic and timeless way.

Minimal Style: Pixie Market

If you want to encompass the perfect sense of minimal monochromatic style I highly recommend looking at Pixie Market. Their pieces have unique twists but always incorporate a wonderful neutral color palette perfect for those who enjoy a nicely curated feed. Their pieces are within a good price range and the quality is definitely worth it. Their curation and styling really make shopping online simple.

Making a Statement: Simonett

Making a statement is always a good thing (for the most part) so finding Simonett a few years ago (back when they were still Style Mafia) was very refreshing. Their pieces add in a funky twist into your wardrobe with styles that are easy to mix and match with your current wardrobe staples. Prices are also really reasonable for what you are getting and you are guaranteed to get a compliment on whatever you purchase from them.
