Maxi Skirts are the new Denim

OK ok I know the title of this one is a little over the top but right now I’m a huge fan of maxi skirts. I’m not just talking clingy jersey ones either, I’m talking denim, structured, pleats and asymmetrical skirts taking over my mind body and soul. Again, very extra in my passion for maxi and midi skirts.

I’ve been wearing a ton of trousers lately and for some reason I’m just getting a little bored with that. Not to mention the recent influx of cute skirts has me rethinking that entire section of my closet. Which until recently was totally empty. Now I’ve had my fair share of silky midi skirts (in so many colors and prints) but recently I’ve expanded a bit past that. I recently took a trip to Nashville (just getting back yesterday) and with the weather being in the 90s and humid I was at a complete loss of what to wear while also staying true to trying to be chic. I found myself throwing a few skirts into my suitcase and here we are.

I think the great draw of maxi skirts for me is their versatility. Since we were in some super hot weather I paired mine with various tank tops. I just ensured that they had some kind of structure or texture to make them interesting. But the skirts themselves I think were the main focus of the outfits. What I really am excited to pair with these are oversized vintage tees. Also make sure those babies aren’t tucked in, that way you get this almost dress like appearance that looks undone but is clearly very intentional.

Well now that my ted talk is over be sure to check out some of my favorite maxi skirts up above and hopefully you find some inspiration in the pieces I wore in this post!
