I love a versatile black midi dress, one that can be worn under cropped sweaters, jackets, or in this case, a cute neck scarf. This midi is perfect for summer, one side slit, v shaped neck line and thin straps can be worn casually or dressed up. For a dressed down look I grabbed a basic red bandana and folded it a few times to create a cute neck scarf. I also threw on a taupe Panama style hat and although I probably looked incredibly western inspired but I think it works! Adding a low heeled sandal completes the look. This can easily be transitioned into an evening piece (even with the shoes) by adding some statement jewelry pieces, removing the scarf and hat and instead throwing on some red lipstick. Brandy Melville has some great pieces and I can always count on them to have cute basic dresses and tees to meet all my needs.

On a side note I’m allll about these bandanas which can be worn cute within your hair or wrapped around your neck. If you want the bandana to look a little more feminine I recommend cutting the bandana to make it thinner.
