It has finally arrived, the anticipated Phillip Lim for Target collection and I am happy to say I grabbed 2 amazing pieces! This was my first experience waiting for one of the Target Designer Collaborations and some anticipated it to be close to that of the Black Friday shenanigans. Luckily my mother and I arrived at 6 am and our Target was a ghost town. We set up our chairs and chatted until about 7:15 when another mother-daughter pair showed up. In total right when the clock struck 8 am there were about 12 of us and it was enough to wipe out all handbags and about 80% of the clothing selection. I am really impressed with the quality and the design of the pieces and it was well worth the two hour wait. On a side note, people are really thirsty for these designer pieces so I hope everyone had a safe attempt at getting their bags because the claws sure do come out when something is within a “limited collection”.

The overcast weather in So Cal is making it a lot easier for me to start dressing for fall. Granted it gets up to 80 degrees during the day, I’m safe and sound inside my ice box of an office. After seeing tons of bloggers rocking the lace up Zara heels at Fashion Week I quickly remembered I had purchased some MIA lace up wedges years ago that look almost identical. I have pushed aside this pair for quite sometime, my last memory of them was far from positive, more like cringing from how uncomfortable my feet felt. When I slipped them on this morning I realized that I must have been a major cry baby back in the day because these are actually incredibly comfortable for heels (minus the “breaking in” blisters that are forming).

I’m really getting tired of this monotonous white background so I will keep this post short for now. Just wanted to show all of you my new kimono that my sister helped me make! (granted she did 90% of it) My sister is the “seamstress” of the family and with her moving away in a month I wanted to start taking in a few lessons and pointers for when I have the urge to be creative. I have been eyeing a few kimonos from Arnhem Clothing along with some other designers but I wasn’t very comfortable paying such a high amount for them. (too many other things higher on my “to buy” list). One trip to LA and a couple hours of work and voila!
I will be posting some higher quality pictures of it this weekend so stay tuned!
I am having some serious blues about New York Fashion Week occurring and I’m sitting at home/work. Hopefully next year I will be able to attend at least one of the shows and mark it off my bucket list of things I hope to accomplish. In honor of Fashion Week and the start of Fall I decided to go simple today in my GAP boyfriend denim and my actual boyfriends t-shirt. I’m reminiscing to my high school days where I only wore mens v-neck undershirts. This occurred during the time where retailers felt women weren’t a fan of oversized. I’m glad to say women’s fashion finally caught up to me (partially due to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). Either way I will still be a sucker for wearing mens clothing, sometimes you just can’t get the same effect, plus I can smell Nick all day (don’t worry he smells good).
Stay tuned for some posts on my favorite pieces from NYFW! A girl can
lust dream right?

I feel like this would have been my “Back to School” outfit had I not already graduated this past winter. Channeling some dark Clueless and Cher Horowitz school vibes. Something about pairing turtle necks, frilly socks and creepers that makes you think of high school in the early 90s. All my latest purchases are geared towards fall so they havn’t been able to handle this 90 degree weather we are having so please enjoy some of my favorite recycled pieces

It’s been getting harder and harder to go shooting on the weekends with so many things going on so unfortunately I am stuck with getting creative in my backyard. The lighting was really spectacular this morning however and gave me a halo effect with all of the back light. I recently purchased a couple of items from 2020Ave that are going to be great not only during this heat wave in So Cal but also during fall. The pieces are very feminine so I will really enjoy pairing them with leather, tweed, and pastels this fall.
I had a request to do a few different looks with these Gap boyfriend jeans and I am trying to fit them in as much as possible! They are so versatile I could wear them everyday. Not to mention I have never felt more freedom in a pair of jeans in my life.

I’m currently lusting over these Zara black basics. Definitely purchasing all of these come my next paycheck. Although I am still aching for some summer threads I know that Winter Is Coming (for those GOT fans) and I need to prepare. I have been looking for a pair of laced up leather pants and these Zara look-a-like pair are giving me everything. A dainty black camisole and these patent open ankle boots will not only go with everything in my wardrobe, but look how well they already compliment each other! For every colored item in my closet I think I counter act it with at least 4 black pieces but hey, who doesn’t love the way black looks on?
Hot weather means all black? Well yes, if it means thin backless tops and crochet shorts. My favorite go-to summer outfit always has some sort of Brandy Melville piece associated with it. I somewhat regret not buying these shorts in white, the crochet detailing was much easier to see on a lighter color but what can I say, I just love black too much! If you haven’t noticed already, these boots are giving me everything right now, and although ASOS lagged by 3 extra days on my shipping it was well worth the wait. These boots will be featured in many of my upcoming posts so be patient while I over wear them!
P.S. My tan lines are still out of control from the X-Games, don’t judge.

I’ve never been one to be completely capable of recognizing trends, mainly because I just like too many things. My particular style for the day depends on my mood, what time I wake up, and many other variables. Here are a few of my favorite pieces I am obsessed over for this coming fall. These RVCA pants have taken over my mind, body, and soon to be wallet. Not only are they an amazing print but the cut is exactly what I was looking for. If you’re like me and stare at Novella Royale’s amazing pieces for hours on end but cringe at the thought of passing up eating for a pair of pants these are a definite go-to. The 2020ave romper has the faint appearance of lingerie which might be why I like it so much for the upcoming fall season. Luckily the So Cal weather will permit wearing shorts up until late October. The Isabel Marant sandals and Celine sunnies are just a “lust” part of the list, I’m sure until the time comes where I can afford these without feeling super guilty I will indulge, until then I will find something else to fill the void. Happy Tuesday!
I am seriously in love with these new Zara sandals I purchased on sale. The simplistic straps and the metal work caught my attention immediately! Good thing too because I think these went fast online. I paired them with an H&M dress I purchased awhile back. I love the mesh overlay and if you look close enough, the embroidery includes butterflies and skulls :). The overcast weather forced me into my Cotton On army green shirt but I’m not one to complain, I like how the green of the jacket and the metal within the shoes gives me an industrial look of sorts. I love nothing more than to pair a frilly dress with some stern accessories to give it some edge!
