Tuxedo Loafers – Qupid | Farleigh High Waist Slim Mom Jeans – ASOS | Striped Crop Top – Urban Outfitters (Similar) | Round Metal Sunglasses – Ray-Ban
Casual outfit for the days shenanigans. Nothing quite like casual Fridays in high waisted denim and some cute tuxedo shoes from Quipid to give you everything and more. These shoes are the perfect pair for any ankle grazing skinny jeans.
In love with my latest addition to my family of heels, these Simmi Shoes strappy sandals. They are the perfect piece to transition from day to night. Throw them on with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and a cute blouse for the perfect daytime look OR create an evening look (like above) with a camel t-shirt dress and overcoat with a crossbody bag.
My latest fashion obsession is the shirt dress maxi. Something about it’s lightweight cotton with the not so flirty hemline makes me think a little less risky business and a whole lot more class. Whether it’s short, quarter, or long sleeve you just can’t go wrong with something as easy to throw on as this. A summer staple for the masses.
Finally purchased this coat I had been lusting over for the past 2 months. Unfortunately they ran out of an XS so I opted for the small. At the end of the day it worked out better since I intend on wearing a lot of sweaters underneath it and I’m usually a fan of being able to bend my arms completely. Camel accents black and white so perfectly so I knew it would go well with my current wardrobe. Zara has such an amazing assortment of coats for a reasonable price and since H&M sold out of the few I had been interested in purchasing I’m glad I could finally snag this one for a mere $80.
On a side note if you are looking to invest in a coat and aren’t able to splurge I would recommend checking your local GoodWill or other second hand clothing store nearby. You can find really high quality coats for around $20! While thrifting isn’t for everyone, designer wool coats will last a long time and you can barely tell they were ever worn. Why not reuse if you can right?
Finally back on my blog game. It’s been incredibly crazy with the Holiday’s and end of the year shenanigans at work. A few weeks back I took a trip to LA for the Spanish Moss warehouse/sample sale. I am pleased to announce I picked up this little fringy number after pulling a ton of other items which ended up being no-go’s.
I usually don’t frequent sample sales just because I don’t live in the LA area but this one was relatively mellow. At one point however another girl was giving me the evil eye because she had the same exact dress on hold which had mysteriously gone missing. After 3 times of explaining that this was not her dress (mine is missing the top button) she backed down…a bit.
I paired this dress with a recent thrifted coat purchase. I stepped into my local Goodwill looking for a 70s style furry coat and low and behold this baby just happened to cross my path. Although the fabric is a little cheesy and it sheds (a lot), it was still worth it. All I need is a pair bell bottoms and I’ll be the spitting image of Jackie from that 70s show!
I have a mean case of Tartan on the mind. These pieces are such great essentials for winter and fall. If I could buy the middle look in time for Thanksgiving I definitely would but alas, I think time has been cut too short for this one. I’ll hopefully find a different alternative but I believe I will be sporting as similar a skirt as I can find and pairing it with a nice warm sweater.
I’m really getting into the fall mood lately. I just purchased this MinkPink Zippora Jumper (shown above) and I can’t wait for the air to feel crisp again. Currently I am lusting over tan and dusty pink over coats and baby blue fuzzy sweaters. Who would have thought baby blue would be such a fall color but it makes me even more excited for winter to come. I am also thinking of getting a sherpa lined moto jacket in the near future. My favorite piece I own is my H&M leather jacket but I would love to have one more winter appropriate.
For those of you who don’t use Polyvore I would highly recommend it. If you are like me and cruise around online sites getting inspiration or window shopping it helps to get all of your ideas down onto something legible. PLus it makes it easy to share with others
A huge thank you to BCBGeneration for hooking it up with this plaid shirt. I entered their #StyleMeGen Instagram contest and was sent this button up along with a personalized affirmation bracelet and some Too Faced mascara. Almost as if they read my mind, I have been looking for a new plaid shirt to add to my fall collection. Plaid shirts and jeans were my staple outfits during my senior year of high school so this is bringing all sorts of throwback Thursday memories to play. The colors, long length and softness really make a difference in how a plaid looks on you. Having had bad experiences with H&M and Forever21 button ups that sit too short on my body and wayyyy too boxy have made me turn to more high end brands to get my fix.
I would definitely recommend grabbing one of these babies if you can, by signing up for the BCBGeneration email newsletters you are also the first to know when one of their sales is going on. Happy Monday!
Ever since my introduction to Instagram it has been a complete addiction. The clean layout, perfectly portioned pictures and the ability to visually follow the lives of friends, family, and fashion idols seems to have created an Instagram trigger finger in me. Checking the app has almost turned into some sort of strange ADD tick where I can’t help but flip through pictures every 5 minutes (I know many of you can attest to this). The world is ever increasingly (due in part to the internet) becoming stimulated by visual imagery.
Working full-time and maintaining my blog can sometimes put a lot of creative restraints on me. What I can always count on is capturing my life through my iPhone lens. So if you want to get a peak into my world feel free to follow me!
