So there’s a few things I’m really loving for Spring. One of them is clearly gingham but the other is trench coats! I received this one awhile back but it’s been the perfect type of weather lately to bring it back to life! What I love the most about a trench coat is how the structured accents look so flattering next to everyday outfits. Whether you pair this trench with a t-shirt, blouse or dress, it adds a little edge and city vibes to any look.
Getting in the Holiday spirit with pops of red silk thanks to Grana. My favorite go-to for basics, their silk collection has got me on one. I’ve already featured one of their silk slip dresses and fell in love. I’ve been absolutely drawn to red lately with accessories and clothing pieces so when this deep red camisole came into my life I knew I had to style it for the Holidays!
Stripe Wide Leg Jumper – Akira | Round metal sunglasses – Ray Ban | Case of the Ex Wide Choker – LaModa
Living for beach nights such as this, especially in such a beachy little number that is this white striped wide-leg jumpsuit from Akira. The pants on these things though, it’s hard to explain and near harder to picture but the legs on this are almost individually wrapped! They elongate the leg so much and when the right breeze hits or if you’re strutting your stuff, a little leg action is sure to happen. This is really versatile piece which is why I’m such a fan, it’s great for those warm So Cal nights when you’re heading out to dinner (in my case with the hubby) and just adding on a cute strappy heel. Or it’s something perfect for your next summer vacay when you’re headed to an evening dinner by the water and under the stars. This really makes me want to head back to Mexico where we traveled for our honey moon!
It has finally arrived, the anticipated Phillip Lim for Target collection and I am happy to say I grabbed 2 amazing pieces! This was my first experience waiting for one of the Target Designer Collaborations and some anticipated it to be close to that of the Black Friday shenanigans. Luckily my mother and I arrived at 6 am and our Target was a ghost town. We set up our chairs and chatted until about 7:15 when another mother-daughter pair showed up. In total right when the clock struck 8 am there were about 12 of us and it was enough to wipe out all handbags and about 80% of the clothing selection. I am really impressed with the quality and the design of the pieces and it was well worth the two hour wait. On a side note, people are really thirsty for these designer pieces so I hope everyone had a safe attempt at getting their bags because the claws sure do come out when something is within a “limited collection”.
This past weekend has been a whirlwind. While I am thankful for the extension due to Labor Day, running around doing errands, lending a hand in my boyfriends move and not to mention the heat seriously wore me out. Little to no time to even think or have the energy to blog and shoot. But I managed to squeeze in some time to feature a pretty sick cropped top I was gifted from Mint Crew. I’m a sucker for 1) cropped tops and 2) upcoming brands so it was a real treat to have this sent to me. As I mentioned, due to the heat wave hitting So Cal I paired it with my Ralph Lauren DIY high waisted shorts and my Supra Skytops. I can see some real potential for Mint Crew, they have some clean graphics and keep women in mind when designing which is always refreshing. Be sure to keep them on your radar!
I am seriously in love with these new Zara sandals I purchased on sale. The simplistic straps and the metal work caught my attention immediately! Good thing too because I think these went fast online. I paired them with an H&M dress I purchased awhile back. I love the mesh overlay and if you look close enough, the embroidery includes butterflies and skulls :). The overcast weather forced me into my Cotton On army green shirt but I’m not one to complain, I like how the green of the jacket and the metal within the shoes gives me an industrial look of sorts. I love nothing more than to pair a frilly dress with some stern accessories to give it some edge!
I apologize for the lack of posts. Being sick plus the gloomy weather makes for lazy outfit days and low motivation to take pictures. I have been inspired by all the new fall lookbooks that have been popping up. Trousers and menswear are high on the list of must-haves. I dug around my closet to come up with an interpretation. These Forever21 trousers are not only a great color but has an incredibly comfortable low rise fit. The v-neck is PINK by Victorias Secret, not my first place to look for a soft tee but you come across some fun surprises when you have a gift card to spend! I threw on my oversized camouflage jacket to add a fun print and considering it is made for men, it added that touch of menswear I was looking for. Mixing these neutrals was a lot of fun and although it took me away from my usual “all black everything” I still enjoyed putting it all together. Happy Wednesday!
As we start to see Fall approaching I am starting to retire the florals and hire back my leather pieces. I picked up this leather mini over a year ago for a vegas trip. Who would have thought it would have made it mainstream into my everyday wardrobe? Spent the afternoon shopping with my mom and chose my DC tennies to help tone down the skirt a tad. Not everyone considers a tight leather mini something you wear whilst strolling through the mall, plus your feet need some assistance when your digging through racks. This look is a fun play on textures and something I am going to increase on greatly during the fall season. Leather will always maintain a classic look no matter how many trends pass through.
For an evening look, throw on a leather jacket and some red strappy heels!
I am absolutely in love with all of the printed rompers and jumpsuits that I have been seeing as of late. Revolve Clothing has a ton of adorable pieces including a One Teaspoon low back romper that I’m dying to purchase! But one of the difficult things about printed rompers happens to be that it’s blatantly obvious when you re-wear them. Whether it’s to work or a special event, the print usually catches everyone’s attention. While the compliments over cocktails will pour in, the next time your in it, everything’s already been said and done. Especially when you are being photographed (for fashionistas like us) it is a little heart wrenching to see yourself wearing the same outfit twice. Not all of us have the luxury of wearing a piece once (ballin’ on a budget). But alas, no need to fear, here is how I have re-worked my Mango romper to give it a fresh new look and how you can update your rompers too!
The first step is to decide what direction to go in. For myself, I had already used this romper for a more “dressed up” occasion so I grabbed my elongated knit vest I purchased on MEGA SALE from Forever21 years ago. It breaks up the pattern and also makes the look more casual (see dressed up version here). The second step is to change up your shoes and accessories. Since I’m going casual I grabbed my black fedora, glitter Zara sandals, Michael Kors bag, and ZeroUV sunnies. While I was going for a monochrome look, feel free to spice up a black and white romper with some colored kicks or handbag, it will definitely “pump up” your look (Foster the People would agree). Immediately you can see the difference, it’s really refreshing when I know I’m getting good use out of my clothing.
Feeling a little dressy and a little dark today. Paired my Pacsun Kendall & Kylie cropped top with my LA Hearts bralette. To make the outfit a little more work appropriate I layered the bralette underneath. This is my absolute favorite maxi skirt. My sister purchased it from a thrift store and personalized it for me by cutting some slits into it. There’s something incredibly sexy about a little side slit action although, it’s funny to think that if I were to cut the skirt where the slits start it wouldn’t be half as sexy. The skirt material is extremely soft and silky, perfect for these hot days at the office!
