As you guys have seen, I am absolutely nuts for colored sweaters and I’m expanding my collection with this green chunky knit & plaid trousers combination. I love the look of this bright green sweater alongside a print like plaid, not only because I just love plaid, but because I’ve been wearing it as a neutral lately. I had one hectic weekend running around a convention in Pasadena so it was nice to stop by Urth Caffe before the chaos ensued and snap a few photos nearby.
There’s a new hot brand in town and they are here to stay. Australian brand I.AM.GIA is a favorite amongst celebrities like Kaia Gerber, Bella Hadid and Kourtney Kardashian. A lot of people are probably wondering what makes I.AM.GIA so special or, is I.AM.GIA the label worth the hype? I was introduced to the brand earlier this year and immediately fell in love with their Cobain pants in tan. Little did I know what a craze would be built behind it only a few months later. I grabbed a pair of the Cobain pants after some contemplation but they were only around $80 so I decided to go for it. Only about a week or so later did the pants completely SELL OUT.
Mohair-blend Sweater – H&M | Ultra High Rise Levis – Re/Done | Teddy Bear Coat – Native Youth | Corsa Boot – MGemi | The Chain Bag – Naked Vice | Du Jour Mustard Beret – Free People |
You can’t deny that Teddy Bear Coats are the must have for winter. Last year there was a particular H&M teddy bear coat that everyone wanted their hands on. This year it’s shifted slightly to the oh so Instagramable and coveted I.AM.GIA teddy bear coat. Either way, these coats are cozy, trendy, and can be worn in a multitude of ways. Sitting at my desk all day at work, I like wearing comfortable coats I can move in when our office is super cold in the mornings. These kind of coats have a lot of give and make it easy to be able to type and maneuver around. Only downside is that I sometimes get too comfortable that I feel like falling asleep haha.
New Years Eve is quickly approaching and I’m trying to make the transition from the hustle and bustle of the Holidays to what I’m going to do to bring in the new year! While I like to think I’m going to have a fun time going out with friends, let’s be real, almost every other year I just sit around at home and watch the ball drop with family. There are a ton of things I’m looking forward to in 2018 and one of them is expanding my blog to cover new topics and get more in-depth with what my readers are looking for! In the meantime however here are a few easy new years eve outfits for any occasion!
It’s no secret that I love myself some good brunch, it’s also known that places like Los Angeles, Long Beach, etc have some of the best spots both in food quality and aesthetics. We can’t forget about my good ole hometown of Orange County though! Here is a compilation of some of my favorite brunch spots in Orange County for you to hit up before the end of the year or to start off the new year with a bang!
Zinc – Corona Del Mar
Zinc is always a go-to spot for me to hit on the weekends when I want to get close to the beach. This location is in Corona Del Mar, just off of Newport Beach on the way down towards Laguna Beach. They have a great range of Breakfast items and they are vegetarian friendly. There’s also a really cute local flower stand only a short walking distance away so you can absolutely make a day of this brunch spot with some shopping and a quick trip down to the beach!
Le Labo Lotion & Le Labo Coffee Body Scrub
– I absolutely love this set the lotion smells unbelievable and basically seconds as a perfume. Since I’m somewhat “allergic” to aerosols it really works well for me.
I’m such a big believer in quality vs quantity. I don’t mean spending a large amount on one item but what I mean is that purchasing something meaningful, useful and thoughtful overall. I have a big and somewhat split up family so when the Holidays roll around I have a ton of gifts that I have to buy and in turn, a lot of gifts I end up receiving.
I was just chatting the other day with some of my coworkers talking about how when I get the urge to purchase some type of item in particular (tops, dresses, pants, bags, hats, etc) I go ALL OUT with purchasing more than one. I’m not sure if it’s my excitement from just loving some particular style of a piece but in reality it’s kind of a sad and weird obsessive behavior. Recently I was sitting down and thought, man I need some new bags, I feel like I’ve been wearing the same ones! So just like that I started jumping online looking up top handle bags. I was really inspired by the Celine Top Handle bag but alas, I’m trying to save for a house so that dream flew out the window.
Welcoming mixing prints with open arms! Well, in this case I mixed a bunch of different plaid, check, or houndstooth esq prints. I’m also thrilled to be a part of the Stuart Weitzman family and give these new Gigi Hadid Eyelove loafers a run! I received these mules a little while ago and I have to say even prior to taking photos of these I’ve already worn them twice. They are incredibly comfortable and look so flattering on the foot with it’s pointed toe that helps elongate the leg.
Quick little outfit today that I am absolutely in love with. I got both of these pieces from Zara during the Black Friday promotion. The checkered high waisted pants are my new favorites so expect to see them in a lot of Instagram / Blog posts! I was hesitant to believe they were actually high waisted based on the website images (you can never fully trust those can you) along with Zaras reputation for mislabeling things as high waisted.
The Holidays are coming quick and with Thanksgiving already come and gone we are now looking forward to all of the fun December Holidays the world celebrates! For myself, Christmas is what I’ll be looking forward to next. With my family being relatively small and close in nature, I don’t have to worry too much about over dressing for the Holidays. My favorite way to dress for family Holiday gatherings is casual yet cute.
