Dresses for an Italian Vacay

June 13, 2019

So lately I’ve been really really wanting to visit Italy. I get in these modes and it’s just all I can think about. The architecture, the culture, way of life, SHOPPING, it’s all just so incredibly dreamy and inspiring. Recently I took a trip down to Laguna Beach with my dear friend Katherine and we had the best time taking fun photos and just basking in the sun.

It got me thinking though that I have such a soft spot right now for flirty little dresses and how a lot of them remind me of flying off to a European vacation. That being said I decided to pull a few favorites your way! I’m really trying to find ways to make my wardrobe a lot simpler. While I love the idea of crazy pieces and mixing prints, etc. I think I’ll leave that to Fashion Week looks and have my day-to-day be more manageable with high quality pieces that have cool structure to them. A lot of these dresses are investment pieces that aren’t too crazy in price point. I feel like a lot of them can be worn with say a cardigan thrown over, layered with a turtleneck (when we transition to fall) or even with an oversized sweater thrown atop. These kind of silhouettes are perfect for dressing up or down, throwing on an oversized blazer, swapping out strappy heels for tube socks and sneakers. I have to remind myself sometimes that when it comes to dresses and jumpsuits that there are SO many different ways to make each look unique. I also have to remember one really nice piece thrown on you is worth 10 mediocre outfits.

Going Out Vacation Dresses

I am not usually one to have a specific outfit for just going to dinner. I’m a pretty low maintenance lady, also we never go out to overtly fancy places. But when I”m on vacation I am ALL about those outfit changes because when will I ever again? These dresses caught my eye for the perfect “going out” look whether for drinks, dinner, or dancing.

Daytime Vacation Dresses

Aside from going out in the evenings most of my pieces worn on vacation are obviously during the day. I envision these dresses to be worn to a late breakfast sipping coffee overlooking the ocean. Or cruising through the markets picking up fresh bread as a snack. Finally finishing the afternoon off with a quick museum visit and SHOPPING (as you can tell my favorite thing to do).
