As an avid coffee connoisseur I love scrounging my area for local Orange County coffee shops that not only have great coffee and pastries but also a unique experience and environment. One of my friends had mentioned FreeSoulCaffe in downtown Tustin, CA to me a few weeks back and it really sounded familiar. Low and behold I had it bookmarked already in Yelp as a place to visit. Once I had the chance to stop in (note that they are closed on Sundays as I failed in my first attempt to try it out) I was pleasantly surprised. The aesthetic is unbelievable with marble counter and table tops, cute shrubs and succulents and some beautiful wood decor.

Coffee: While I usually go for lattes or flat whites, today I was feeling a little more basic and went for their drip coffee. I’m extremely happy I did considering how beautiful the presentation was (see above images). They are also a Vegan restaurant so you can bet I was happy to know they provide milk alternatives for my coffee which I barely needed to add into my coffee, it was just that good.

Food: As mentioned above, this is a vegan coffee/caffe so you can expect all breakfast, lunch and dinner items to be without the essentials of milk and eggs. I ordered off their new “brunch” menu and opted for their Potato Hash. It was seriously delicious with tofu, green and red peppers, onions, and some jalepenos which surprisingly didn’t add too much spice (I’m not one for super spicy).

Overall the service here was impeccable and while I did visit on a lonely Tuesday morning you can expect that this place is great for Saturday morning and afternoons. I’d check them out for breakfast but my husband also tried their vegan ham sandwich and he was pleasantly surprised.
