Summer is in the air and I couldn’t have spent it in a better place than LA. Feeling very 90s in this PurrrMelrose halter mini dress in a fun blue plaid print. I grabbed this piece from the Melrose Trading post in what almost seems like a month ago but am just now able to wear it. For some strange reason every time I go out and purchase summer items it gets obnoxiously cold the next day. Guess it’s just my luck since I’m one of those people who love wearing new purchases the next day. I’ve been inspired by this recent 100 years of fashion video from Refinery29 that outlines the trends throughout each decade beginning in 1910. It’s fun to see how we are influenced by 70s and 90s style currently, however I have a feeling the 2000s will never come back to play (and with good reason), if you watch the video I think you’ll cringe like I did.

Choker necklaces and mini dresses with platforms are becoming some of my favorite summer must have items. These wood clog platforms are perfect to pair with cropped denim and a flowy blouse or a pair of overalls. I can’t wait to style them with more things! Not to mention it took me over 2 months to find these exact kind of shoes that were within my price range (Forever21 had a similar pair that sold out). The choker necklace I’m wearing I actually “made”, AKA I went to Michaels and bought black and brown deerskin leather, cut it, and tied it around my neck. One of the best decisions I have made in awhile.
