I apologize for the lack of posts. Being sick plus the gloomy weather makes for lazy outfit days and low motivation to take pictures. I have been inspired by all the new fall lookbooks that have been popping up. Trousers and menswear are high on the list of must-haves. I dug around my closet to come up with an interpretation. These Forever21 trousers are not only a great color but has an incredibly comfortable low rise fit. The v-neck is PINK by Victorias Secret, not my first place to look for a soft tee but you come across some fun surprises when you have a gift card to spend! I threw on my oversized camouflage jacket to add a fun print and considering it is made for men, it added that touch of menswear I was looking for. Mixing these neutrals was a lot of fun and although it took me away from my usual “all black everything” I still enjoyed putting it all together. Happy Wednesday!

As we start to see Fall approaching I am starting to retire the florals and hire back my leather pieces. I picked up this leather mini over a year ago for a vegas trip. Who would have thought it would have made it mainstream into my everyday wardrobe? Spent the afternoon shopping with my mom and chose my DC tennies to help tone down the skirt a tad. Not everyone considers a tight leather mini something you wear whilst strolling through the mall, plus your feet need some assistance when your digging through racks. This look is a fun play on textures and something I am going to increase on greatly during the fall season. Leather will always maintain a classic look no matter how many trends pass through.
For an evening look, throw on a leather jacket and some red strappy heels!

I am absolutely in love with all of the printed rompers and jumpsuits that I have been seeing as of late. Revolve Clothing has a ton of adorable pieces including a One Teaspoon low back romper that I’m dying to purchase! But one of the difficult things about printed rompers happens to be that it’s blatantly obvious when you re-wear them. Whether it’s to work or a special event, the print usually catches everyone’s attention. While the compliments over cocktails will pour in, the next time your in it, everything’s already been said and done. Especially when you are being photographed (for fashionistas like us) it is a little heart wrenching to see yourself wearing the same outfit twice. Not all of us have the luxury of wearing a piece once (ballin’ on a budget). But alas, no need to fear, here is how I have re-worked my Mango romper to give it a fresh new look and how you can update your rompers too!
The first step is to decide what direction to go in. For myself, I had already used this romper for a more “dressed up” occasion so I grabbed my elongated knit vest I purchased on MEGA SALE from Forever21 years ago. It breaks up the pattern and also makes the look more casual (see dressed up version here). The second step is to change up your shoes and accessories. Since I’m going casual I grabbed my black fedora, glitter Zara sandals, Michael Kors bag, and ZeroUV sunnies. While I was going for a monochrome look, feel free to spice up a black and white romper with some colored kicks or handbag, it will definitely “pump up” your look (Foster the People would agree). Immediately you can see the difference, it’s really refreshing when I know I’m getting good use out of my clothing.

Feeling a little dressy and a little dark today. Paired my Pacsun Kendall & Kylie cropped top with my LA Hearts bralette. To make the outfit a little more work appropriate I layered the bralette underneath. This is my absolute favorite maxi skirt. My sister purchased it from a thrift store and personalized it for me by cutting some slits into it. There’s something incredibly sexy about a little side slit action although, it’s funny to think that if I were to cut the skirt where the slits start it wouldn’t be half as sexy. The skirt material is extremely soft and silky, perfect for these hot days at the office!

First day back in the office after a weekend of casual attire means…I have no idea what to wear. When in doubt, I go for this high waisted pencil skirt. The length is perfect for work while still maintaining my age with a fitted look. This cold shoulder top has been holding a spot in the back of my closet as of late, but it has one of my favorite fits for a blouse. Usually I have trouble with blouses with them being either too heavy, see through, or too stiff and unmanageable to tuck in.
The shoulder cut off gives my work attire a stylish look without appearing too casual. With this skirt being so tight it is near impossible to tuck something into it unless it is fairly short and thin. (No one likes shirt bulge in their bottoms) To take full advantage of the slender silhouette of this skirt I tied the bottom of my top versus buttoning down. You also get a little bit of European holiday flair with it as well don’t you think?

I have been waiting for this outfit since the day I purchased this cropped top almost a year ago. You never realize how hard it is to find the perfect fit of overalls when you are scrounging through the Goodwill racks but it is difficult. Usually the legs are just too big for me. I just got back from Comic Con and was hoping to wear this outfit on my last day (Saturday) but the weather made a drastic shift from sunny and hot to overcast and breezy. Since it didn’t work out in SD I wore it running errands in Anaheim. I love all of the fun combinations I have been doing with these overalls. You can pair them with just about anything and you have a completely different look.
On a side note, I am used to being photographed when I cosplay at Comic Con but ironically I was asked to be photographed on Saturday. Before you say to yourself “well yeah, you were dressed up” note that I wasn’t dressed in costume. The girl actually has a street style blog for San Diego and wanted to include me in her blog. Pretty insane, I tell you, fashion never sleeps.

This past weekend a good chunk of the world attended Comic Con in San Diego, CA. This has been my fifth year attending and it was just as action packed as before! My cosplay (costume) this year was Psylocke from X-men, the 80s version however. While I wasn’t recognized as easily as the typical assassin Psylocke attire, a few people were stoked to see a throwback Psylocke :). My sister is shown in her Pixie (X-men) costume as well as Black Cat from Spiderman. Make sure you visit her Facebook page here to see additional pictures of her cosplay. Here’s a breakdown of the events that took place:
Wednesday (Preview Night): Midnight showing of “Psych the Musical”, free shirt swag, free popcorn and diet coke AND a special thank you visit to our theatre from none other than James Roday (Shawn Spencer), Maggie Lawson (Juliet Ohara), Corbin Bernsen (Henry Spencer).
Thursday: Cosplaying and the Workaholics panel where we learned about the lack of “sneak phrases” in the next season.
Friday: Cosplaying and the appearance of Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dickson) from the Walking Dead waving at us from a staircase. *faints*
Saturday: Purchasing some fun Comic Con exclusives.
I seriously regret only bringing my phone to take pictures but after last year dressing in costume I just counted on friends and strangers to grab pictures from. Unfortunately this year there seemed to be a lack of photographers!
Here are a few other pictures I took from the event. In no particular order!

I’d like to formally address that there will be a significant lack of posts this week due to Comic Con slowly approaching. And by slowly I mean I leave tomorrow. I will have more than enough photos to share once I return. I will be dressing up this year yet again as Psylocke from X-Men. The 80s version however (didn’t feel like walking around in a tight one piece). Please be sure to follow my Instagram for updates! You won’t be sorry, a lot of shenanigans occur during the “con”. I have a feeling there will be enough photos to share The photo above is my cosplay from last year, X-23 also known as Wolverine’s (weapon X) female clone. My sister is rocking a few fun cosplays as well, she is incredibly talented and has made both of my costumes thus far! Check out her Facebook page Here.
I look forward to posting after the convention! I’ll see all of you lovelies soon!
I have this problem of always buying boots or heels throughout the year. It is great for 80% of my life but when spring and summer roll around you start doing a lot more traveling and walking which isn’t always great for heels or closed toe shoes (especially with the sunny California weather). I’m really bad at making the decision to buy sandals since I assume they are limited to the summer months. I only have one pair that are fashionably appropriate (not flip flops). But low and behold, some of the latest sandal trends having been cruising through my mind and inspiring a lot of outfit ideas, including those for fall! Here are a few of my favorites, all $70 or less from Urban Outfitters.
Perfect for a printed sun dress and some big sunnies.
Grab those high waisted shorts and a crochet top and you’ll be festival ready all summer long.
The Caged Sandal
I’m a fan of these since they have the illusion of a small cut out boot. These are great for some high waisted trousers and cropped top.
Every girl should have a pair of glitter sandals or a holographic pair. They are so fun to spice up any basic outfit. Plus, they second as somewhat “formal” shoes. Just incase you aren’t in the mood for heels (guilty).
Printed Canvas Sandals
Pair of boyfriend jeans and a white v-neck. Enough said.
In a last minute frenzy to pack for Huntington Beach I grabbed the few pieces (and I mean few) that would help me beat the heat. While my ancient pair of Abercrombie shorts and my Brandy Melville tank are easy to wear to the beach it’s a little much (less) when your running around doing errands. I threw on my Royal Blue boyfriend blazer from H&M and GoJane studded booties for a very casual look. Bright colored blazers are perfect to wear when you need to dress up an outfit. I love mixing anything professional looking with something on the tattered side.
Ps. You don’t know how hard it is to find a good tank top. This Brandy Melville one I picked up is perfect. Cropped, tight, and strappy. Perfect for layering, especially with anything high waisted. You’ll be able to tuck without the bunch
